TVNW wins watch of the year

Table View Neighbourhood Watch is humbled, grateful and elated to be recognised by the City of Cape Town’s Safety & Security Directorate and the Western Cape Government’s Department of Community Safety (DOCS) as the Neighbourhood Watch of the year 2017. We thank Dan Plato, Alderman JP Smith and their team for the great work they have done within Neighbourhood Watches around the peninsula.

We felt honoured to be in the same room as many other Neighbourhood Watches who, like us, protect their community with passion.
Our members continue to go above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis to assist our SAPS teams on the ground.
We do this for our families and for our community to create a better environment for their future, we will NOT accept the current crime rate in our area – we stand against this together. Utilising the various organisations in our area and making sure that no crime/incident slips through the cracks or does not get reported for statistics.
We have exceedingly high standards and do not accept any action which goes against the code of conduct governing Neighbourhood Watches.

As members of this organisation, we equip ourselves with the skill set needed to be effective in all avenues which make up a neighbourhood watch.
Every single member in this watch deserves this award, it takes many members with different skills and strengths to make a team which is a force to be reckoned with.
We as TVNW members are proud of this achievement, a lot of hard work and countless hours are spent patrolling and operating the control room amongst various other functions.

To be a successful Neighbourhood Watch, you need to have members who have an innate desire to better their community. Your members have to be inspired, to exceed expectations, to ask themselves how they can make a difference in the community. Once you have this, the rest comes naturally.
